TOY & CLOTHING BOUTIQUE DECEMBER 22
An Invitation to Take Part in a
Very Special Holiday Event
Very Special Holiday Event
The Holiday Toy & Clothing Boutique will be held on Sunday, December 22, from noon till 3 p.m., at The Meher Schools, 999 Leland Drive, Lafayette.
The Saranap Community Association launched the Boutique in 2008 as a way for Saranap and Meher Schools families to pass along gently used clothing, toys, and books to other neighborhood and school families, who could take home, at no cost, items other children had outgrown. Five years and 15 Boutiques later, the event has become a much-loved neighborhood institution.
Dr. Carol Weyland Conner, who originated the Boutique, suggested that we reach beyond our relatively affluent neighborhoods to families in other parts of the county who have no money to buy clothes or toys for their children. Starting with our October 6 Boutique, we began working with churches and community organizations that serve the poor to invite these families to share in the generous spirit of the Boutique.
For our December 22 Boutique, we’re collaborating with The Meher Schools, as part of their Service Learning Program, to create a wonderful event for our less-fortunate neighbors. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to these very special guests as you enjoy the Boutique. There are several ways your family can participate:
- Donate gently used clothing, toys, books, and games
- Purchase new items to be given away at the Boutique
- Volunteer to help us prepare for and stage our holiday event
If you’d like to help in any way, please call the SCA’s voicemail number, 952-5839, or e-mail Stephanie Monson, the SCA’s community service chair, at Steph.Saranap@Gmail.com. If you live in the neighborhood, we’ll gladly pick up your donation. Leave us a voicemail, and we’ll be in touch!
