Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Neighbors Helping Neighbors volunteers provide assistance to neighbors who, because of illness, age, the birth of a child, or other circumstances need assistance with the "little things" they once took for granted: changing a light bulb, shopping for groceries or cooking a meal, getting to a doctor's or hairdresser's appointment. Some of those we help are older people who are isolated and lonely and just need someone to talk to. Others are full-time caregivers to homebound spouses who sometimes need "personal time."
Volunteers are paired with neighbors based on the neighbors' needs and the volunteers' background and interests. Volunteers undergo a thorough background check and are trained by experts before providing services. The Neighbors Helping Neighbors leadership team includes two physicians, a professional care worker, and others with extensive community-service experience. If we can't provide the kind of help someone needs, we refer him or her to a program or agency that can.
If circumstances make the "little things in life" a challenge for you or someone you know, please complete the form below. A Neighbors Helping Neighbors program coordinator will contact you. Your information will be kept confidential. All our services are offered free of charge.
